A special event of planting trees together with the residents. The goal is to plant typical Israeli trees for providing shade, as well as Orchard trees. During the event, there’s going to be a workshop for crafting signs with the tree’s names and a communal picnic. These trees are highly useful: they’re adapted to the Israeli weather, as well as to future climatic changes, they require moderate watering, they’re strong and durable to snapping and diseases of the branches. The orchards give fruits, enrich the local natural landscape and feed the Israeli birds, bringing various pollinators and butterflies into the park. Last but not least, these trees are highly symbolic, so they’re strengthening the connection every resident has to his\her country and legacy.
The trees we intend to plant in the park:
- Mulberry trees of different Baladi species
- Ficus fig tree of different Baldi species
- Ficus sycomorus
- Red Hawthorn
- Ceratonia silique
- Ziziphus jujube
- Ulmus canescens (a tree that once grew along the banks of the Yarkon River)
- Quercus ithaburensis
- Quercus suber
During the event, temporary signs will be installed over the trees that will be prepared by the residents under the supervision of a professional.
The event will be concluded by a communal picnic in the area.
Price: Free of charge
Recommendations: It is recommended to come with mats and dinner for the communal picnic.
